e-smith server and gateway, version 4.0

The e-smith server and gateway software package, when installed on a PC-compatible computer, transforms it into a polished, easy-to-use communications server that allows your network to share an Internet connection and that provides you with an email server, web server, Mac/Windows filesharing, ibays, etc. e-smith is based on Red Hat Linux. The installation procedure is completely automated and an attractive Web-based user interface makes system administration a breeze.

  • Users can dial-out using a (possibly shared) shared modem.
  • Users can initiate PPP connections to remote systems.

  • IMAP server.
  • SMTP server (sendmail, others).

  • Anonymous ftp server.
  • Accepts telnet connections.
• Network services provided to remote users over dial-up or the Internet:
